Introduction
GC26C31 is a quad differential line driver IC designed for digital data transmission over balanced transmission lines. The device is fully compliant with EIA-422-A specifications while maintaining the low-power advantages of CMOS technology. It accepts TTL or CMOS logic level inputs and converts them to EIA-422-A standard differential output levels. A special output stage design allows individual drivers to enter a power-down state without affecting bus voltage. Dedicated control logic is integrated to place outputs in a high-impedance state during power-up or power-down sequences, effectively preventing false signals. A common enable/disable control pin is provided for simultaneous control of all four driver channels. The GC26C31 is pin-compatible with AM26LS31, MC26C31, and similar devices, and is available in SOP16 and TSSOP16 packages. All pins incorporate ESD protection circuitry for enhanced reliability.
