Introduction
The infrared obstacle avoidance sensor offers strong ambient light adaptability and high precision. It features a pair of infrared emitter and receiver tubes. The emitter transmits infrared signals at a specific frequency; when an obstacle (reflective surface) is encountered in the detection direction, the infrared signal reflects back and is picked up by the receiver tube, causing the indicator LED to illuminate. After signal processing through the circuit, the signal output interface outputs a digital signal, and the detection distance can be adjusted via a potentiometer knob. Due to its wide operating voltage range, the sensor maintains stable operation even under significant power supply fluctuations, making it compatible with various MCUs, Arduino controllers, and similar platforms. When mounted on a robot, it can sense changes in the surrounding environment.
Specifications:
- Operating voltage: DC 3.3V~5V
- Operating current: ≥20mA
- Detection distance: 2~40cm
- IO interface: 4-wire interface (-/+/S/EN)
- Output signal: TTL level (obstacle present = LOW, no obstacle = HIGH)
- Adjustment method: multi-turn resistor adjustment
- Effective angle: 35°
Usage Instructions: The EN enable cap must be installed before use. First, turn the lower potentiometer fully clockwise, then adjust the upper potentiometer — clockwise increases detection distance, counterclockwise decreases it. With DC 5V supplied to the module, the power indicator LED illuminates. When an obstacle is detected, the signal indicator LED lights up and the signal output goes LOW; when no obstacle is detected, the signal indicator LED turns off and the signal output goes HIGH.
Note: Do not exceed the maximum allowable supply voltage of the module, as doing so may cause damage.
