Introduction
The TMP392 device belongs to an ultralow-power, dual-channel, resistor-programmable temperature switch family that provides protection and detection of system overtemperature events in the range of 30°C to 130°C. The TMP392 offers dual overtemperature (hot, warm) detection. The trip temperature (T_TRIP) and thermal hysteresis (T_HYST) options are programmable via two E96-series resistors (1% tolerance) located at the SETA and SETB pins. Channel A resistor values range from 1.05KΩ to 909KΩ with 48 discrete values. Channel B resistor values range from 10.5KΩ to 909KΩ. The resistor-to-ground value at the SETA input sets the T_TRIP threshold for Channel A. The resistor-to-ground value at the SETB input sets the T_TRIP threshold for Channel B. The T_HYST option for both channels can be set to 5°C or 10°C to prevent unwanted digital output toggling. When the SETB input is grounded, Channel A operates with 20°C of hysteresis. Resistor accuracy has no effect on T_TRIP accuracy. To enable board-level manufacturing, the TMP392 supports a trip test function by activating the digital output through assertion of the SETA or SETB pin function.
