Introduction
The ISO774x-Q1 devices are high-performance, four-channel digital isolators that offer isolation ratings of 5000 VRMS (DW package) and 3000 VRMS (DBQ package) in accordance with UL 1577. This family of devices features enhanced isolation ratings compliant with VDE, CSA, TUV, and CQC standards. When isolating CMOS or LVCMOS digital I/Os, the ISO774x-Q1 devices provide high electromagnetic immunity, low emissions, and low power consumption. The logic input and output buffers of each isolated channel are separated by a silicon dioxide (SiO₂) insulation barrier. The devices are equipped with enable pins that can be used to place the corresponding outputs in a high-impedance state in multi-master drive applications or to reduce power consumption. The ISO7740-Q1 device has four channels all in the same direction, the ISO7741-Q1 device has three forward channels and one reverse channel, and the ISO7742-Q1 device has two forward channels and two reverse channels. In the event of a loss of input power or signal, devices without the suffix F default to a high output, while those with the suffix F default to a low output. When used in conjunction with an isolated power supply, these devices help prevent noise currents in data buses or other circuits from entering the local ground, which could otherwise interfere with or damage sensitive circuits. Thanks to innovative chip design and layout techniques, the electromagnetic compatibility of the ISO774x-Q1 devices has been significantly enhanced, easily meeting system-level compliance requirements for ESD, EFT, surge, and radiation. The ISO774x-Q1 family of devices is available in 16-pin SOIC and QSOP packages.
