Introduction
The ISO674x-Q1 devices are high-performance quad-channel digital isolators offering UL 1577-compliant isolation ratings up to 5000VRMS, making them ideal for cost-sensitive applications with such requirements. These devices are also certified by VDE, TUV, CSA, and CQC, and meet VDA320 isolation requirements. While isolating CMOS or LVCMOS digital I/O, the ISO674x-Q1 devices provide high electromagnetic immunity, low emissions, and low power consumption. The logic input and output buffers of each isolation channel are separated by dual-capacitor silicon dioxide (SiO₂) insulation barriers. These devices feature an enable pin that can be used to place their respective outputs in a high-impedance state in multi-master drive applications. The ISO6740-Q1 has four channels all in the same direction, the ISO6741-Q1 has three forward channels and one reverse channel, and the ISO6742-Q1 has two forward channels and two reverse channels. In the event of input power or signal loss, devices without the suffix F default to a high output, while devices with the suffix F default to a low output. Used in conjunction with an isolated power supply, the ISO674x-Q1 devices help prevent noise currents on data buses such as CAN and LIN from damaging sensitive circuits. Through innovative chip design and routing techniques, the EMC performance of the ISO674x-Q1 devices is significantly enhanced, enabling them to easily meet system-level ESD, EFT, surge, and radiated emissions compliance requirements. The ISO674x-Q1 family is available in a 16-pin wide-body SOIC (DW) package and serves as a pin-to-pin upgrade over previous-generation devices.
