Introduction
The ISO672xB devices are high-performance dual-channel digital isolators that offer an isolation rating of 3000 VRMS (D package) in accordance with UL 1577, making them well-suited for cost-sensitive applications with such requirements. These devices are also certified by VDE, TUV, CSA, and CQC. While isolating CMOS or LVCMOS digital I/Os, the ISO672xB devices provide high electromagnetic immunity and low emissions, along with low power consumption. The logic input and output buffers of each isolation channel are isolated by TI's dual-capacitor silicon dioxide (SiO2) insulation gate. The ISO6720B device features two in-phase isolation channels. The ISO6721B device has two reverse-phase isolation channels. In the event of input power or signal loss, devices without the suffix F default to a high output, while those with the suffix F default to a low output. When used in conjunction with isolated power supplies, these devices help prevent data buses such as UART, SPI, RS - 485, RS - 232, and CAN from damaging sensitive circuits. Thanks to the innovative chip design and wiring technology, the electromagnetic compatibility of the ISO672xB devices is significantly enhanced, which can mitigate system-level ESD, EFT, and surge issues and meet radiation standards. The ISO672xB series of devices are available in an 8-pin SOIC narrow-body (D) package and are a pin-to-pin upgrade from previous generations of devices.
