Introduction
4-channel PCIe 5.0 linear redriver or repeater with integrated 2:1 mux. Protocol-agnostic, compatible with PCIe, UPI, CCIX, NVLink, DisplayPort, SAS, SATA, and XFI. Single 3.3V supply, compatible with PCIe power rail. Active power as low as 720mW in 4-channel operation — no heatsink required. Up to 24dB equalization at 16GHz, excellent RX/TX differential RL (−10dB from 8–16GHz), low additive random jitter of 55fs RMS (with PRBS data), 90ps low latency. Automatic receiver detection and seamless PCIe link training support, device configuration via pin control or SMBus/I2C, mux selection via pin. Internal regulator with power supply noise rejection, high-speed production testing for manufacturing reliability, x4, x8, and x16 bus width support through one or more devices, companion demux product SN75LVPE5412 available, 0°C to 85°C temperature range, 3.5mm × 9mm 42-pin 0.5mm pitch WQFN package.
The SN75LVPE5421 is a 4-channel linear redriver with integrated mux. This low-power, high-performance linear redriver is designed to support PCIe 5.0 and other interfaces up to 32Gbps.
The SN75LVPE5421 receiver employs a continuous time linear equalizer (CTLE) for high-frequency boost. The equalizer can open input eye diagrams completely closed by ISI caused by interconnect media such as PCB traces or cables. During PCIe link training, the linear redriver and the passive channel between the root complex (RC) and endpoint (EP) are trained as a whole to achieve optimal transmit and receive equalization settings, enabling excellent electrical link quality. The device features low channel-to-channel crosstalk, low additive jitter, and extremely low return loss, making it nearly transparent as a passive element in the link. An internal linear regulator provides high immunity to on-board power supply noise, delivering a clean power supply to the high-speed data path.
The SN75LVPE5421 undergoes high-speed testing during production to ensure reliable, high-yield manufacturing. The device also features low AC and DC gain variation, providing consistent equalization performance across diverse platform deployments.
