Introduction
The THVD14x9(V) devices are half-duplex RS-485 transceivers with integrated surge protection. Surge protection is achieved by integrating TVS diodes within the standard 8-pin SOIC(D) package. This feature improves reliability and provides better immunity against noise transients coupled to data cables without requiring external protection components. The THVD1439 and THVD1449 operate from a 3.3V or 5V supply. The THVD1439V and THVD1449V devices support an additional V₁₀ supply, enabling IO operation at supply levels as low as 1.65V. This device family features a wide common-mode voltage range, making it suitable for multipoint applications over long cables. The THVD14x9(V) devices are half-duplex RS-485 transceivers with surge protection, available in two speed grades for data rates up to 250kbps and 12Mbps respectively. Surge protection is achieved by integrating TVS diodes within the standard 8-pin SOIC(D) package. The THVD1439 and THVD1449 devices feature an active-high driver enable and an active-low receiver enable. Disabling both the driver and receiver yields a standby current below 1.5μA (Vcc = 3.6V). The THVD1439V and THVD1449V have a single enable/disable pin that activates either the driver or the receiver at a time.
