Introduction
The TPA6404-Q1 device is a four-channel analog-input Class-D audio amplifier with a 2.1MHz PWM switching frequency. It offers a cost-optimized solution in a very small 4.5cm² PCB size. It can operate fully at voltages as low as 4.5V for start-stop events and provides excellent audio quality over an audio bandwidth of up to 100kHz. The TPA6404-Q1 Class-D audio amplifier is excellently designed and suitable for entry-level automotive audio head units, providing analog audio input signals as part of the system design. Compared with traditional linear amplifier solutions, the Class-D topology significantly improves the device efficiency. The output switching frequency is higher than the AM band, which eliminates AM band interference and reduces the size and cost of the output filter. The device is packaged in a 56-pin HSSOP with an exposed thermal pad.
