Introduction
The ISO772x is a high-performance dual-channel digital isolator with precise timing characteristics and low power consumption. The device provides high electromagnetic immunity and low emissions when isolating CMOS digital I/O. All versions feature Schmitt-trigger inputs for high noise immunity. The logic input and output buffers of each isolation channel are isolated through silicon dioxide insulating barriers. The ISO7720 features two channels in the same direction, while the ISO7721 features one channel in the opposite direction and one in the same direction. All devices offer a fail-safe mode option: devices with the FDR suffix default to a low output level, while devices with the DR suffix default to a high output level. The device offers high insulation capability, helping to prevent noise and surges on data buses or other circuits from reaching local ground and interfering with or damaging sensitive circuitry. Its high common-mode transient immunity ensures correct transmission of digital signals. The device is available in an 8-pin SOP package; all products carry an isolation rating of 3.75kVRMS, and the wide-body package version supports insulation withstand voltage up to 5kVRMS.
