Introduction
These octal bus transceivers are designed for asynchronous bidirectional communication between data buses. The control function implementation minimizes external timing requirements. Depending on the logic level on the direction control (DIR) input, the SNx4HC245 devices transmit data from the A bus to the B bus, or from the B bus to the A bus. The output enable (OE) input can be used to disable the device, effectively isolating the buses. To ensure a high-impedance state during power-up or power-down, OE should be connected to VCC through a pull-up resistor; the minimum value of this resistor depends on the sink current capability of the driver.
