Introduction
CD4017 is a 5-stage Johnson decade counter with 10 decoded high-level outputs. It includes CLOCK, RE, and INH inputs. The Schmitt trigger on the clock input provides pulse shaping, with no restrictions on the rise and fall times of the input clock pulses. When INH is low, the counter increments on the rising edge of the clock; otherwise, the count function is disabled. When RE is high, the counter is reset to zero.
