The AiP74HC/HCT373 is an 8-bit D-type latch with 3-state outputs. The device features a latch enable (LE) and an output enable (OE) input. When LE is HIGH, data at the inputs enters the latches. In this condition, the latches are transparent — each latch output changes whenever its corresponding D input changes. When LE is LOW, the latches store the information that was present at the inputs one setup time before the falling edge of LE. A HIGH on OE forces the outputs into a high-impedance state. Operation of the OE input does not affect the state of the latches. Input clamping diodes are provided. This enables the use of current-limiting resistors to interface inputs to voltages exceeding VCC.
