The ADV7181C is a high-quality, single-chip, multiformat video decoder and graphics digitizer. This multiformat decoder supports conversion of PAL, NTSC, and SECAM standard signals in composite video or S-Video format to digital ITU-R BT.656 format. It also supports decoding of RGB/YPrPb component video signals to digital YCrCb or RGB pixel output streams. Supported component video standards include 525i, 625i, 525p, 625p, 720p, 1080i, and many other HD and SMPTE standards. The device also supports graphics digitization, enabling digitization of RGB graphics signals at VGA to XGA rates and conversion to digital DDR RGB or YCrCb pixel output streams. In addition, it can simultaneously process CVBS and SD RGB signals, supporting SCART and overlay functionality. Mixing of these signals is controlled by a fast blanking pin. The ADV7181C contains two main processing sections. The first is the Standard Definition Processor (SDP), which handles all types of PAL, NTSC, and SECAM signals. The second is the Component Processor (CP), which handles YPrPb and RGB component formats, including RGB graphics.
