Introduction
KEMET organic capacitors (KO-CAP) are the preferred solution for applications requiring power loss protection (hold-up) or maximum power efficiency where PCB space is limited. Key advantages include high energy density, stable capacitance under applied voltage and temperature variations, and no aging effects. These solid electrolytic capacitors feature conductive polymer cathodes with very low ESR and high capacitance retention at high frequencies. Unlike liquid electrolyte-based capacitors, KEMET polymer capacitors offer long service life and high ripple current capability. The T520, T521, and T523 series are commonly used in these applications. The T545 and T548 series were introduced to meet the specific requirements of the solid-state drive market segment.
