TPS56628 is an adaptive on-time D-CAP2™ mode synchronous buck converter. It helps system designers implement a power bus regulator set for various end equipment through a cost-effective, low component count, low standby current solution. The main control loop uses D-CAP2™ mode control, which provides fast transient response without external compensation components. Adaptive on-time control enables seamless transition between PWM mode under heavy load conditions and Eco-mode™ operation under light load. Eco-mode™ allows the TPS56628 to maintain high efficiency under light load conditions. Proprietary circuitry also enables the device to support low ESR output capacitors such as POSCAPs or SP-CAPs, as well as ultra-low ESR ceramic capacitors. The device operates with an input voltage range of 4.5V to 18V VIN. The output voltage is adjustable from 0.76V to 5.5V. It is available in an 8-pin DDA package and is designed to operate over a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
