Introduction
The LY4176ST is a single-cell Li-ion battery linear charger IC with integrated input overvoltage protection. It features an input voltage rating up to 30V, an overvoltage protection threshold of 6.1V, and a configurable maximum charge current of 800mA. The IC incorporates a complete charging sequence — trickle charge, constant current (CC), and constant voltage (CV) — along with an integrated reverse-blocking circuit that eliminates the need for an external isolation diode. An internal intelligent thermal regulation function automatically reduces the charge current under high-temperature conditions to limit the die temperature. Additionally, the NTC function monitors battery temperature and suspends charging when the battery temperature exceeds the configured safe operating range, extending Li-ion battery service life and ensuring safe operation.
