Introduction
This device is a high-performance dual-channel digital isolator with precise timing characteristics and low power dissipation. It provides high electromagnetic immunity and low emissions when isolating CMOS digital I/O. All device versions feature Schmitt trigger inputs for high noise immunity. The logic input and output buffers of each isolation channel are separated by a silicon dioxide insulating barrier. This family of devices offers high insulation capability, helping to prevent noise and surges on data buses or other circuits from reaching the local ground and interfering with or damaging sensitive circuitry. The high common-mode transient immunity ensures correct transmission of digital signals. Devices are available in 8-pin narrow-body SOIC, 8-pin wide-body SOIC, and 16-pin wide-body SOIC packages, and are RoHS compliant. All products carry an isolation rating of 3.75kVrms, with wide-body package variants supporting withstand voltage up to 5kVrms. The isolation barrier lifetime exceeds 40 years. Devices are available with a failsafe mode option: if input power or signal is lost, models with the suffix L default to a low output, while models with the suffix H default to a high output.
