Introduction
The MTCH2120 is a capacitive touch controller with an I2C interface, supporting waterproof touch button or proximity sensing applications. The device features 12 capacitive touch sensors with configurable driven shield functionality. Touch performance parameters can be adjusted via the I2C interface to configure MTCH2120 operation for the intended use case. Additionally, the device includes out-of-the-box Easy Tune functionality that requires no tuning even under varying noise conditions, making it the fastest path to building a touch button interface. To ensure reliable touch detection even in challenging noise environments, the MTCH2120 integrates advanced algorithms that actively filter noise from the signal. The MTCH2120 touch/proximity detection sensors, leveraging its proprietary Metal Over Capacitance technology, can operate through plastic, wood, or metal front panels. It supports various conductive materials as sensors, such as copper pads on PCBs, silver paste, PEDOT carbon printing on plastic film, and indium tin oxide pads.
