Introduction
WS2815C is an intelligent externally-controlled LED light source that integrates control circuitry and light-emitting circuitry in a single component. Its form factor matches a standard 2121 LED, with each component functioning as one pixel. Each pixel incorporates a smart digital interface, data latch, signal reshaping and amplification drive circuit, high-precision internal oscillator, and high-precision constant current control module, ensuring high color consistency across pixels. Dual-signal transmission ensures that a single damaged pixel does not affect the overall color display. The data protocol uses single-wire return-to-zero (RZ) communication. After power-on reset, the DI pin receives data transmitted from the controller. The first 24 bits of incoming data are captured by the first pixel and stored in its internal data latch; the remaining data is reshaped and amplified by the internal signal conditioning circuit, then forwarded through the DO pin to the next cascaded pixel. Each pixel in the chain extracts 24 bits, reducing the data stream by 24 bits per transmission. The automatic signal reshaping and forwarding technology eliminates cascading limits imposed by signal degradation, with the only constraint being signal transmission speed requirements. A port scan frequency of up to 4KHz ensures no flickering even when captured by high-definition cameras, making it ideal for high-speed moving applications. A RESET time of over 280µs prevents spurious resets during signal interruptions, enabling support for lower-frequency, cost-effective MCUs.
