Introduction
IP5389 is a multi-function power management SOC integrating QC2.0/QC3.0/QC3+ output fast charging protocols, AFC/FCP/SCP/VOOC input/output fast charging protocols, USB-C PD2.0/PD3.0 input/output protocols, USB-C PD3.0 PPS output protocol, BC1.2/Apple device compatibility, synchronous bidirectional buck-boost converter, lithium battery charging management, and battery level indication, providing a complete power solution for fast-charging power banks. It supports USB-A ×2, USB-C, and USB-B (or Lightning, or USB-C) — four USB ports simultaneously. Each port individually supports fast charging; when two or more output ports are used simultaneously, only 5V is supported.
The high integration and rich feature set of IP5389 requires only a single inductor to achieve bidirectional buck-boost functionality, minimizing the number of external components required, effectively reducing overall solution size and BOM cost.
IP5389 supports 2/3/4/5 series-connected cells. The synchronous switching buck-boost system delivers up to 100W power input/output. Under no-load conditions, it automatically enters sleep mode.
The synchronous switching charging system of IP5389 provides up to 8.0A charging current. Built-in IC temperature, battery temperature, and input voltage control loops intelligently regulate charging current.
IP5389 features a built-in 14-bit ADC for precise measurement of battery voltage and current. The integrated fuel gauge algorithm accurately retrieves battery level information. A customizable battery capacity curve enables precise battery level display.
IP5389 supports 4-LED battery level display, various numeric tube displays such as 88 and 188, lighting function, and button input.
