Introduction
Featuring a proprietary super surge control technology, this transient shunt suppressor is designed to protect systems against electrical overstress and ESD events. Rather than relying on PN junction breakdown and current dissipation as in conventional TVS diodes, this device leverages IC technology to deliver a robust surge solution by redirecting surge current to ground through a built-in surge-rated FET. Compared to the PN junction in TVS diodes, the device offers lower on-resistance, enabling precise, smooth, and temperature-independent clamping voltage — minimizing residual voltage on the protected system. Ideal for protecting power buses operating up to 33V, the device is rated for a peak transient pulse current of 50A (tp = 8/20μs). Housed in a compact DFN2020-6L package — 90% smaller than industry-standard SMA/SMB packages — it also features lower capacitance and 50% lower leakage current compared to conventional TVS diode-based solutions.
Features
- ESD protection compliant with IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4
- ±30kV contact discharge
