Introduction
This device contains an AlGaAs LED optically coupled to an IC with a power output stage. This optocoupler is well suited for driving power IGBTs and MOSFETs in motor control inverter applications. The high operating voltage range of the output stage provides the drive voltage required for gate-controlled devices. The voltage and high peak output current provided by this optocoupler make it ideal for directly driving IGBTs rated up to 1200V/200A. For higher-rated IGBTs, this optocoupler can be used to drive a discrete power stage, which in turn drives the IGBT gate. This device features the highest insulation voltage of VIORM = 1140 Vpeak under IEC/EN/DIN EN 60747-5-5.
