Introduction
24AA02/24LC02B (24XX02*) is a 2 Kbit electrically erasable PROM. The 24XX02 also features a page write capability of up to 8 bytes. This product family is available in standard 8-pin PDIP, surface mount SOIC, TSSOP, 2x3 DFN, 2x3 TDFN, and MSOP packages, as well as a 5-pin SOT-23 package. The 24LC02B/24AA02 is internally organized as 16 pages of 16 bytes each, requiring an 8-bit data word address for 2K random word addressing; the 24LC04B/24AA04 is a 4K serial EEPROM organized as 32 pages of 16 bytes each, requiring a 9-bit data word address for 4K random word addressing; the 24LC08B/24AA08 is an 8K serial EEPROM organized as 64 pages of 16 bytes each, requiring a 10-bit data word address for 8K random word addressing; the 24LC16B/24AA16 is a 16K serial EEPROM organized as 128 pages of 16 bytes each, requiring an 11-bit data word address for 16K random word addressing. Device operations include clock and data transitions, start condition, stop condition, acknowledge, standby mode, and memory reset. For device addressing, 2K/4K/8K/16K EEPROM devices all require an 8-bit device address word following the start condition to enable the chip for read or write operations. Write operations include byte write, which requires an 8-bit data word address following the device address word and acknowledgment.
