Introduction
The BMI325 is a highly integrated, low-power IMU that combines precise acceleration and angular rate (gyroscope) measurements with intelligent on-chip motion-triggered interrupt functionality. The BMI325 integrates a 16-bit digital 3-axis accelerometer with configurable full-scale ranges of ±2g, ±4g, ±8g, and ±16g; a 16-bit digital 3-axis gyroscope with configurable full-scale ranges of ±125°/s, ±250°/s, ±500°/s, ±1000°/s, and ±2000°/s; and a 16-bit digital temperature sensor with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.

- Programmable low-pass filtering
- Wide supply voltage range: analog VDD 1.71V to 3.63V, VDDIO 1.08V to 3.63V, independently configurable
- Ultra-low current consumption: 790μA typical (at full ODR, alias-free operation)
- Integrated PMU for advanced power management and low-power modes
- Fast start-up time: 2.5ms for accelerometer and gyroscope (fast start-up mode)
- Group delay < 1ms
- 2KB on-chip FIFO buffer for accelerometer, gyroscope, temperature, and sensor timestamp data
- Fast offset error compensation for accelerometer and gyroscope
- Gyroscope: fast sensitivity error compensation (max sensitivity error < 1)
- Hardware synchronization of accelerometer, gyroscope, and temperature (< 1/ss)
- Sensor timestamp for precise system (host) and sensor (IMU) time synchronization (< 40μs)
- Two independent programmable I/O pins for interrupt and synchronization events
- On-chip interrupt engine and integrated smart features for always-on applications (e.g., activity, motion, and gesture recognition) using IMU ultra-low-power domain
