Introduction
AD8009 is an ultrahigh speed current feedback amplifier featuring a slew rate of 5500 V/μs and a rise time of only 545 ps, making it ideal for use as a pulse amplifier. The high slew rate minimizes slew-induced distortion, enabling a large signal bandwidth of 440 MHz to meet the demands of high resolution video graphics systems. Signal quality remains high across the full wideband range, with worst-case distortion of -40 dBc (250 MHz, G = +10, 1 V p-p). For applications with multitone signals such as IF signal chains, the third-order intercept point (3IP) at the same frequency is 12 dBm. This distortion performance, combined with the current feedback architecture, allows the AD8009 to be flexibly deployed as a gain stage amplifier in IF/RF signal chains. The AD8009 can deliver more than 175 mA of load current, driving four back-terminated video loads while maintaining low differential gain and phase errors (0.02% and 0.04°, respectively). The high drive capability is further demonstrated by its ability to deliver 10 dBm of output power at 70 MHz with a spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) of –38 dBc. The AD8009 is available in a compact SOIC package, rated for the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The device is also offered in a SOT-23-5 package, rated for the commercial temperature range of 0°C to 70°C.
