Introduction
The TPS785-Q1 ultra-low dropout regulator (LDO) is a compact, low-quiescent-current LDO capable of delivering 1A with excellent line and load transient performance.
With low output noise and outstanding PSRR performance, this device is well suited for power-sensitive analog loads. The TPS785-Q1 features an input voltage range of 1.7V to 6.0V and an adjustable output voltage range of 1.2V to 5.5V, making it a flexible post-regulation solution. Fixed output voltages from 0.65V to 5.0V are also available to power commonly used voltage rails.
The TPS785-Q1 incorporates foldback current limiting to reduce power dissipation under overcurrent conditions. The EN pin input facilitates system power sequencing requirements. An internal soft-start reduces inrush current by controlling the startup ramp, thereby minimizing the required input capacitance.
The TPS785-Q1 provides an active discharge circuit that enables rapid output discharge when the device is disabled.
