The BQ77216 product series offers a variety of voltage and temperature monitoring functions, including overvoltage (OVP), undervoltage (UVP), open - circuit (OW), and over - temperature (OT) protection for lithium - ion battery pack systems. It can independently monitor each battery cell for overvoltage, undervoltage, and open - circuit conditions. By adding an external NTC thermistor, the device can detect over - temperature conditions. When an overvoltage, undervoltage, open - circuit, or over - temperature condition is detected, the BQ77216 device activates an internal delay timer. When the delay timer expires, the corresponding output is triggered to enter its operating state (either high or low level depending on the configuration). If an overvoltage fault is detected, the COUT pin is triggered. If an undervoltage fault is detected, the DOUT pin is triggered. If an over - temperature or open - circuit fault is detected, both the DOUT and COUT pins are triggered. To enable faster product line testing, the BQ77216 device offers a customer test mode (CTM) with significantly reduced delay times.
