Introduction
Si115x - AB00/AB09/AB9x is an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and gesture detector with an I²C digital interface and programmable event interrupt output. This non-contact sensor IC includes dual 23-bit ADCs, an integrated high-sensitivity visible and infrared photodiode array, a DSP, and up to three integrated LED drivers with programmable drive levels. The Si115x delivers excellent performance across a wide dynamic range and under various light sources — including direct sunlight — and operates under dark glass covers. The photodiode response and associated digital conversion circuitry provide excellent immunity to artificial light flicker noise and natural light jitter noise. When two or more LEDs are used, the Si115x supports multi-axis proximity motion detection. The Si115x is available in a 10-pin 2×2 mm DFN package or a 10-pin 2.9×4.9 mm LGA module (with integrated LEDs), and operates over a supply voltage range of 1.62 to 3.6 V and a temperature range of -40 to +85°C. Pulling the ADDR pin up to VDD through a 47 kΩ resistor selects the primary I²C address (0x53); pulling it down to GND selects the alternate I²C address 0x52. LED2 drive capability is available on the Si1152 and Si1153 only. Pulling the ADDR pin up to VDD through a 47 kΩ resistor, LED3 drive capability is available on the Si1153 only.
