SILICON LABS SI1153-AB00-GMR

Si115x - AB00/AB09/AB9x is an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and gesture detector with an I²C digital interface and programmable event interrupt output. This non-contact sensor IC includes dual 23-bit ADCs, an integrated high-sensitivity visible and infrared photodiode array, a DSP, and up to three integrated LED drivers with programmable drive levels. The Si115x delivers excellent performance across a wide dynamic range and under various light sources — including direct sunlight — and operates under dark glass covers. The photodiode response and associated digital conversion circuitry provide excellent immunity to artificial light flicker noise and natural light jitter noise. When two or more LEDs are used, the Si115x supports multi-axis proximity motion detection. The Si115x is available in a 10-pin 2×2 mm DFN package or a 10-pin 2.9×4.9 mm LGA module (with integrated LEDs), and operates over a supply voltage range of 1.62 to 3.6 V and a temperature range of -40 to +85°C. Pulling the ADDR pin up to VDD through a 47 kΩ resistor selects the primary I²C address (0x53); pulling it down to GND selects the alternate I²C address 0x52. LED2 drive capability is available on the Si1152 and Si1153 only. Pulling the ADDR pin up to VDD through a 47 kΩ resistor, LED3 drive capability is available on the Si1153 only.

• Ambient light sensor: resolution up to less than 100 mlx, operable under dark glass; dynamic range up to 128 klx across two ADC range settings.
• Industry-lowest power consumption: supply voltage 1.62 to 3.6 V; average current 9 μA (LED pulsed at 180 mA for 24.4 μs every 800 ms, plus Si115x supply current 3 μA); standby current less than 500 nA; LED "on" time 24.4 μs maintains low total power duty cycle without compromising performance or noise; supports internal and external wake-up; integrated supply voltage monitor and power-on reset controller.
• I²C serial communication: data rate up to 400 kHz; supports slave mode hardware address decoding.
