Littelfuse's highly reliable CG/CG2 series gas discharge tubes deliver high-level surge protection in a compact form factor, making them ideal for board-level circuit protection. Operating as switches with minimal energy dissipation, gas discharge tubes can handle currents far exceeding those of other transient voltage protection devices. Their gas-filled, rugged ceramic-metal construction makes them well-suited for harsh environments. The CG/CG2 series is available in multiple configurations — including SMT, bare body, straight lead, and formed lead — to accommodate various mounting methods. The CG series (75V–110V) is ideal for protecting test and communications equipment and other applications requiring low voltage clamping and extremely low arc voltage. The CG2 series (145V–1000V) is ideal for protecting equipment that requires higher voltage clamping and sustaining voltage.
