The highly reliable CG/CG2 series gas discharge tubes feature a compact form factor, providing a high level of surge protection for board-level circuit protection. Gas discharge tubes operate as switches with extremely low energy dissipation, enabling them to handle currents far exceeding those of other transient voltage protection devices. Their gas-filled, rugged ceramic-metal construction makes them ideal for harsh environments. The series is available in multiple configurations — including surface mount, axial, through-hole, and formed lead — to accommodate various mounting methods. The CG series (75V–110V) is ideal for protecting test and communications equipment and other applications requiring low voltage limiting and extremely low arc voltage. The CG2 series (145V–1000V) is ideal for protecting equipment requiring higher voltage limiting and sustaining voltages.
