Introduction
CMT804X is a high-performance quad-channel digital isolator featuring a silicon dioxide insulation barrier and supporting isolation voltages up to 5 kVRMS. The device enables communication between two different power domains, preventing noise currents on data buses or other circuits from entering the local ground and thereby avoiding interference with or damage to sensitive circuits. An enable pin is provided to place the corresponding outputs into a high-impedance state in multi-master drive applications, reducing power consumption. The product family offers up to four forward channels and two reverse channels. Upon loss of input power or signal, CMT804X1 defaults to a high output level, while CMT804X0 defaults to a low output level. Through innovative chip design and layout, the device achieves high electromagnetic immunity and low emissions at low power consumption, meeting system-level compliance requirements for ESD, EFT, surge, and radiated emissions. The CMT804X series is available in SOIC-16 wide-body and narrow-body packages.
