Introduction
TPS63805, TPS63806, and TPS63807 are high-efficiency, high-output-current buck-boost converters. Depending on the input voltage, they automatically operate in boost, buck, or a novel 4-switch buck-boost mode when the input voltage is approximately equal to the output voltage. Mode transitions occur within defined thresholds to avoid unnecessary in-mode switching, thereby reducing output voltage ripple. The output voltage of these devices can be individually adjusted over a wide output voltage range via a resistive voltage divider. TPS63805 and TPS63807 achieve an ultra-small solution size with a minimal BOM. A quiescent current of 11 μA enables excellent efficiency under very light or no-load conditions. TPS63805, TPS63806, and TPS63807 are available in a 1.4 mm×2.3 mm package. The devices are compatible with miniature passive components, keeping the overall solution size compact. TPS63806 is optimized for applications with load step response challenges under heavy load profiles.
