IP2188_D is a highly integrated fast charging protocol IC designed for USB Type-C output ports. Its primary function is to parse fast charging requests from devices connected to the USB Type-C port, then notify the USB Type-C port to adjust the output voltage based on the parsed fast charging protocol. IP2188_D supports automatic detection of charging protocol types for devices connected to the USB Type-C port and performs protocol switching, enabling response to charging voltage requests from different protocols.

IP2188_D supports multiple protocol parsing for USB ports, including Type-C PD2.0/PD3.0/PPS, HVDCP QC3.0/QC2.0 (Quick Charge) Class A, FCP (Hisilicon Fast Charge Protocol), SCP (Hisilicon Super Fast Charge), AFC (Samsung Adaptive Fast Charge), MTK PE+ 2.0/1.1 (MediaTek Pump Express Plus 2.0/1.1), as well as Apple 2.4A, Samsung 2.0A, and BC1.2 charging protocols.

IP2188_D monitors the CC1 and CC2 pin voltages in real time. Upon successful Type-C handshake, it enables the external NMOS power transistor, broadcasts SRC Capability packets on CC1 or CC2, and establishes communication. After the external NMOS power transistor is enabled, IP2188_D monitors the DP and DM pin voltages in real time, automatically identifies the fast charging type, parses and responds to protocol requests to complete the handshake with the device to be charged. Once any fast charging mode is entered, no other fast charging requests will be responded to until the current fast charging session exits and a new fast charging request is accepted.

IP2188_D adjusts the FB voltage to regulate the VBUS voltage according to the device's request, thereby satisfying the device's voltage requirements. IP2188_D does not control the charging loop current; the actual charging current is determined by the adapter and the connected USB port device.

IP2188_D supports external NMOS power transistor control. It controls the NMOS gate via the VBUSG pin to enable/disable the power path — the power transistor is turned on after the CC connection is established and turned off after the CC connection is disconnected.

IP2188_D integrates an FB control interface, enabling precise output voltage control by adjusting the FB SOURCE/SINK current (minimum 2uA/step).
