ESP32-S3-WROOM-1 and ESP32-S3-WROOM-1U are two general-purpose Wi-Fi + low-power Bluetooth MCU modules built around the ESP32-S3 series chip. In addition to rich peripheral interfaces, the modules feature powerful neural network computing and signal processing capabilities, making them suitable for a wide range of AIoT applications such as wake word detection and voice command recognition, face detection and recognition, smart home, smart appliances, smart control panels, smart speakers, and more. ESP32-S3-WROOM-1 uses a PCB on-board antenna, while ESP32-S3-WROOM-1U connects to an external antenna via a connector. Both modules are available in multiple variants. The modules are equipped with an Xtensa 32-bit LX7 dual-core processor operating at up to 240 MHz. The CPU power can be shut down, with a low-power coprocessor used to monitor peripheral state changes or whether certain analog values exceed a threshold. ESP32-S3 integrates a rich set of peripherals, including SPI, LCD, Camera interfaces, UART, I2C, I2S, infrared remote control, pulse counter, LED PWM, USB Serial/JTAG controller, MCPWM, SDIO host, GDMA, TWA controller, ADC, touch sensor, temperature sensor, timers, and watchdogs, along with up to 45 GPIOs. In addition, ESP32-S3 features a full-speed USB 2.0 On-The-Go interface for USB communication.

• On-chip memory: 384 KB ROM, 512 KB SRAM, 16 KB TC SRAM, up to 16 MB PSRAM.
• Wi-Fi supports 802.11 b/g/n, data rate up to 150 Mbps in 802.11n mode, with frame aggregation, 0.4 µs guard interval, and operating channel center frequency range of 2412 to 2484 MHz.
• Bluetooth supports LE 5 and Bluetooth Mesh, with data rates of 125 Kbps, 500 Kbps, 1 Mbps, and 2 Mbps; supports advertising extensions, multiple advertising, and channel selection algorithm; Wi-Fi and Bluetooth share the same antenna and coexist simultaneously.
• Rich peripheral integration including GPIO, SPI, LCD, Camera interface, UART, I2C, I2S, IR remote control, pulse counter, LED PWM, full-speed USB 2.0 OTG, USB Serial/JTAG controller, MCPWM, SDIO host interface, GDMA, TWA controller, ADC, touch sensor, temperature sensor, timers, and watchdog.
• Module integrates a 40 MHz crystal and up to 16 MB Quad SPI flash.
• Two antenna options: onboard PCB antenna or external antenna via connector.
• Operating voltage range: 3.0 to 3.6 V.
• Multiple operating temperature versions: -40 to 65°C, -40 to 85°C, and -40 to 105°C.
