Introduction
The INAx290 is an ultra-precision current-sense amplifier that measures the voltage drop across a shunt resistor over a wide common-mode range of 2.7V to 120V. The combination of an ultra-low offset voltage of ±12μV (maximum), low gain error of ±0.1% (maximum), and high DC CMRR of 160dB (typical) enables ultra-high-precision current measurement accuracy. With a high bandwidth of 1.1MHz (at a gain of 20V/V) and AC CMRR of 85dB (at 50kHz), the INAx290 is suitable not only for DC current measurement but also for high-speed applications such as fast overcurrent protection. The INAx290 provides ultra-precision current measurement capability by measuring the voltage drop across a shunt resistor over a wide common-mode range of 2.7V to 120V. INAx290 devices are available in space-saving packages. The single-channel INA290 comes in an SC-70 package, the dual-channel INA2290 in an MSOP-8 package, and the quad-channel INA4290 in a 4mm×4mm QFN package. The INAx290 operates from a single 2.7V to 20V supply and consumes only 370μA of supply current per channel (typical) for single-channel devices. These devices offer five gain options: 20V/V, 50V/V, 100V/V, 200V/V, and 500V/V. The low offset voltage of the zero-drift architecture enables current sensing with low-ohmic shunts over an extended operating temperature range of −40°C to +125°C.
