Introduction
The DRV5057 is a linear Hall - effect sensor that responds proportionally to magnetic flux density. This device can be used for precise position detection and has a wide range of applications. The device is powered by a 3.3V or 5V power supply. When there is no magnetic field, the output generates a clock with a 50% duty cycle. The output duty cycle varies linearly with the applied magnetic flux density. Four sensitivity options can maximize the output dynamic range according to the required sensing range. North and south magnetic poles produce unique outputs. The typical pulse - width modulation (PWM) carrier frequency is 2kHz. It can detect magnetic flux perpendicular to the top of the package, and two package options provide different detection directions. Since the PWM signal is based on edge - to - edge timing, signal integrity can be maintained in the presence of voltage noise or ground potential mismatch. This signal is suitable for long - distance transmission in noisy environments. The always - present clock enables the system controller to confirm good interconnection. In addition, the device also has a magnet temperature compensation function, which can offset magnet drift and achieve linear characteristics over a wide temperature range from - 40°C to +125°C.
