Introduction
The TPS62134x series devices are easy-to-use synchronous step-down DC-DC converters compatible with Intel Skylake platform applications such as Ultrabooks and notebook computers. The high-performance DCS-Control™ architecture delivers fast transient response and high-accuracy output voltage. With a wide 3V to 17V operating input voltage range, these devices are well-suited for systems powered by Li-ion or other batteries, as well as 12V intermediate power rails. The devices feature a low-power mode in which the output voltage can be reduced via the LPM pin. In addition, dynamic output voltage changes are supported through the VIDx pins. The LPM and VIDx pins help minimize power consumption across different operating modes. The output voltage startup ramp is controlled by the SS pin. Power sequencing can be configured via the enable (EN) pin and power-good (PG) pin. In power-save mode, the device draws approximately 20μA of quiescent current, maintaining high efficiency across the full load range. Short-circuit protection and thermal shutdown safeguard the IC and external components from excessive current during output-to-ground short-circuit conditions. The device is available in a 3mm×3mm 16-pin VQFN package with an exposed thermal pad.
