The LM5021 offline PWM controller contains all the features necessary to implement a high-efficiency offline single-ended flyback/forward power converter using current-mode control. The LM5021 features an ultra-low (25μA) startup current to minimize power dissipation in the high-voltage startup network. Skip-cycle mode reduces power consumption under light-load conditions, enabling energy-saving applications (ENERGY STAR, CECP, etc.). Additional features include undervoltage lockout, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, discontinuous mode overload protection, slope compensation, soft-start, and oscillator synchronization. This high-performance 8-pin IC has a total propagation delay of less than 100ns and allows the oscillator to be set to 1MHz with a single resistor.
