Introduction
TPS25221 is designed for applications that may encounter large capacitive loads and short-circuit events. The programmable current limit threshold can be set between 275mA and 2.7A (typical) via a single external resistor. At higher current limit settings, ILIMIT accuracy as tight as ±6% is achievable. By controlling the rise and fall times of the power switch, inrush current during turn-on and turn-off is minimized. When the load attempts to draw current exceeding the programmed ILIMIT, the internal FET enters constant current mode to ensure ILOAD remains at or below ILIMIT. After the inherent blanking time, the FAULT output is held low during an overcurrent condition.
