Introduction
The TMP431 and TMP432 are remote temperature sensor monitors with integrated local temperature sensors. Remote temperature sensing diode-connected transistors are typically low-cost NPN or PNP transistors or diodes that form an integral part of microcontrollers, microprocessors, or FPGAs. Remote accuracy of ±1℃ is achieved across multiple device manufacturers without calibration. The two-wire serial interface accepts SMBus write byte, read byte, send byte, and receive byte commands for programming alert thresholds and reading temperature data. The TMP43X features Beta compensation (correction), series resistance cancellation, programmable non-ideality factor, programmable resolution, programmable threshold limits, minimum and maximum temperature monitors, wide remote temperature measurement range (up to 150℃), diode fault detection, and temperature alert functionality. The TMP431 is available in a VSSOP-8 package, and the TMP432 in a VSSOP-10 package.
