Introduction
The TPS92682-Q1 is a dual-channel peak current mode controller with an SPI communication interface. Through programming, the device can operate in constant voltage (CV) or constant current (CC) mode. In CV mode, the TPS92682-Q1 can be programmed to function as two independent or two-phase boost regulators. The output voltage can be programmed using an external resistor divider and an SPI-programmable 8-bit DAC. In CC mode, the device is designed to support dual-channel boost or buck LED driver topologies. LED current can be individually modulated using analog dimming or PWM dimming techniques. An analog dimming range greater than 28:1 can be achieved using a programmable 8-bit DAC. PWM dimming of the LED current can be implemented by directly modulating the PWM input pin with the desired duty cycle or using an SPI-programmable 10-bit PWM counter. An optional PDRV gate driver output can be used to drive an external P-channel series MOSFET. The TPS92682-Q1 integrates advanced SPI-programmable diagnostic and fault protection mechanisms, including cycle-by-cycle current limiting, output overvoltage and undervoltage protection, ILED overcurrent protection, and thermal warning. Each channel of the device includes an open-drain fault indicator output. The TPS92682-Q1 includes an LH pin that, when pulled high, enters the limp-home (LH) state. In LH mode, the device uses a set of independent SPI-programmable registers.
