Introduction
The DRV2605L device is a low-voltage haptic driver that includes a haptic effect library and a closed-loop actuator control system, providing high-quality haptic feedback for ERM and LRA. This solution helps improve the actuator's performance in terms of acceleration stability, start-up time, and braking time. It can be triggered via a shared I²C-compatible bus or a PWM input signal.
The DRV2605L device offers a licensed version of the TouchSense 2200 software, which includes more than 100 licensed effects (6 ERM libraries and 1 LRA library) and an audio-to-vibe function, eliminating the need to design haptic waveforms. Additionally, the host processor can use the real-time playback mode to bypass the library playback engine and directly play waveforms from the host via I²C.
The DRV2605L device features an intelligent loop architecture internally, which enables easy implementation of automatic resonant LRA driving and ERM driving with optimized feedback, providing automatic over-driving and braking. This intelligent loop architecture simplifies the input waveform interface and provides reliable motor control and stable motor performance.
Furthermore, the DRV2605L device can automatically switch to an open-loop system when the LRA actuator does not generate an effective back-EMF voltage. When the LRA generates an effective back-EMF voltage, the DRV2605L device automatically synchronizes with the LRA. The DRV2605L can also use an internally generated PWM signal for open-loop driving.
In addition, the "audio-to-vibe" mode can automatically convert audio input signals into actual haptic effects.
