Introduction
The LM57 device is a precision dual-output temperature switch with an analog temperature sensor output, designed for industrial-grade applications across a wide temperature range. The trip temperature (TTRIP) can be selected from 256 possible values within the temperature range of -40℃ to 150℃. V_TEMP is a Class AB analog voltage output proportional to temperature, with a programmable negative temperature coefficient (NTC). Two external 1% resistors set the TTRIP and V_TEMP slope. Both digital and analog outputs feature protection and can monitor system overtemperature events. The built-in thermal hysteresis function (T_HYST) prevents oscillation on the digital output. The TOVER and TOVER digital outputs are asserted when the die temperature exceeds TTRIP, and deasserted when the die temperature falls below the difference between T_TRIP and T_HYST. TOVER is active-high with a push-pull structure. TOVER is active-low with an open-drain structure. Connecting TOVER to TRIP-TEST latches the output after a trip event occurs. Forcing TRIP-TEST low resets the output. Driving TRIP-TEST high asserts the digital outputs. A processor can check the status of TOVER or TOVER to confirm whether they have switched to the active state. This enables field verification of the comparator and output circuit functionality after system assembly. When TRIP-TEST is high, the V_TEMP pin outputs the trip reference voltage.
