The TPS25947xx series of electronic fuses are highly integrated circuit protection and power management solutions in a small package. These devices offer multiple protection modes with only a few external components and can effectively protect against overload, short circuit, voltage surge, reverse polarity, and excessive inrush current. With the integrated back-to-back FETs, reverse current flow from the output to the input is always blocked, making these devices ideal for power multiplexer/ORing applications and systems that require a load-side energy hold-up storage solution in case of input power failure. These devices use a linear ORing-based scheme to ensure almost zero DC reverse current and mimic the behavior of an ideal diode with minimal forward voltage drop and power dissipation.

• Output slew rate and inrush current can be controlled using a single external capacitor. Loads are protected against input overvoltage conditions by clamping the output to a safe fixed maximum voltage (pin-selectable) or by shutting off the output when the input exceeds an adjustable overvoltage threshold. These devices respond to output overloads by actively limiting current or breaking the circuit. The output current limit threshold and transient overcurrent blanking timer are both user-adjustable. The current limit control pin also functions as an analog load current monitor.
