Introduction
The TPS7A3501 is a positive-voltage, low-noise (3.8μV RMS) power filter capable of supplying a 1A load, making it ideal for ultra-clean power supply solutions. Power filters such as the TPS7A3501 provide efficient voltage regulation (low insertion loss) and power supply rejection at the input and output pins. This device is well-suited as a power noise filter for maximum currents of 1A at voltages of 3.3V, 2.5V, and 1.8V. With a single external resistor, users can program the input-to-output regulation voltage in the range of 200mV to 500mV. Without a resistor, the TPS7A3501 provides an input-to-output voltage regulation of 330mV. This device remains stable when used with 10μF input and output ceramic capacitors and a 10nF noise-reduction ceramic capacitor. The TPS7A3501 is rated for an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. The device is available in a low thermal resistance 2mm×2mm WSON-6 package. Unlike passive filters, the TPS7A3501 provides overtemperature protection and current protection for itself and surrounding circuitry.
