Introduction
The TPS22912 is a small, low rON load switch with controlled turn-on. This switch contains a P-channel MOSFET that operates over an input voltage range of 1.4V to 5.5V. The switch is controlled by an active-high input (ON) that can directly interface with low-voltage control signals. To prevent inrush current, the slew rate of this device is internally controlled. The TPS22912 family offers multiple rise time options and is active-high enable. The TPS22912 provides circuit breaker functionality by latching the power switch during reverse voltage conditions. An internal reverse voltage comparator disables the power switch when the output voltage (VOUT) exceeds the input voltage (VIN). This process quickly (typically 10μs) blocks current from flowing back to the switch input. Reverse current protection remains active even when the device is disabled. Additionally, if the input voltage falls too low, undervoltage lockout (UVLO) protection will turn off the switch. The TPS22912 is available in an ultra-small, space-saving 4-pin CSP package and operates over an ambient temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
