Introduction
The TPS3895, TPS3896, TPS3897, and TPS3898 devices (TPS389x family) are ultra-small supervisory circuits that monitor voltages above 500mV with a threshold accuracy of 0.25% (typical) and a capacitor-adjustable delay time. The TPS389x family also features a logic enable pin (ENABLE or ENABLE) for turning the output on and off. Taking the TPS3895 as an example, when the voltage at the input pin (SENSE) exceeds the threshold and the ENABLE pin is high, the output pin (SENSE_OUT) goes high after a capacitor-adjustable delay. When the SENSE voltage falls below the threshold or ENABLE is low, SENSE_OUT goes low. For the TPS389xA version, both SENSE and ENABLE have capacitor-adjustable delays. When the SENSE and ENABLE inputs are valid, the output is asserted after the capacitor-adjustable delay period. For the TPS389xP device, if the SENSE voltage exceeds the threshold, asserting the enable pin will result in the output being asserted after a short propagation delay of 0.2μs. All devices operate over a voltage range of 1.7V to 6.5V with a typical quiescent current of 6μA and an open-drain output rating of 18V. The TPS389x is available in an ultra-small USON package, rated for an operating temperature range of TJ = -40°C to 125°C.
