Introduction
The OPAx863 devices are unity-gain stable, low-power, rail-to-rail input/output, voltage-feedback operational amplifiers that operate from a supply voltage range of 2.7V to 12.6V. The OPAx863 devices consume only 700µA of supply current per channel and offer a gain-bandwidth product of 50 MHz, a slew rate of 105 V/µs, and a voltage noise density of 5.9 nV/√Hz. The rail-to-rail input stage with a 2.7V supply voltage is very useful in portable battery-powered applications. The rail-to-rail input stage provides good gain-bandwidth product and noise performance over the entire input common-mode voltage range, resulting in excellent performance over a wide input dynamic range. The OPA863 has a power-down (PD) mode with a PD quiescent current (IO) of 1.5 µA (max) and turns on or off in 6.5 µs (at a supply voltage of 3V). The OPAx863 devices include an overload power limiting feature that limits the increase in IQ during output saturation, preventing excessive power dissipation in battery-powered, power-sensitive systems. The output stage has short-circuit protection, making the device suitable for harsh environments.
