Introduction
The TPS7A20 is an ultra-small low-dropout (LDO) linear regulator that can provide an output current of 300 mA. The TPS7A20 is designed to offer low noise, high PSRR, and excellent load and line transient performance that meet the requirements of radio frequency and other sensitive analog circuits. The TPS7A20 uses innovative design techniques to provide ultra-low noise performance without the need for a noise bypass capacitor. Another advantage of the TPS7A20 is its low quiescent current, making it suitable for any battery-powered applications. The TPS7A20 has an input voltage range of 1.6V to 6.0V and an output voltage range of 0.8V to 5.5V, which can be used in various applications. The device uses a precision reference circuit to provide a maximum accuracy of 1.5% across different loads, lines, and temperature variations. The TPS7A20 features an internal soft-start function designed to reduce inrush current, thus minimizing the input voltage drop during startup. The device remains stable when used with small ceramic capacitors, enabling a small overall solution size. The TPS7A20 has a smart enable input circuit with an internal control pull-down resistor. This resistor keeps the LDO disabled even when the EN pin is floating, eliminating the need for an external component to pull down the EN pin.
